DURASET DIVISIONS

Roof Bolt Division

A comprehensive range of steel rock reinforcement tendons (roofbolts) are manufactured in Alrode (Alberton) and marketed to gold, platinum, coal and other local and export markets. The product mix consists of a well differentiated range, and coupled with low cost manufacturing technology, this division has established a durable competitive market position over time.

Standup Support Division

The current, well established product range consists of Durapak® (patented cellular lightweight concrete (C.L.C.) design), and Grinpak® (Timber and C.L.C. composite) used as gully pack support in deep level gold and platinum mines. Manufacturing plants are based in Westonaria. New product development in this division resulted in strong organic growth potential on platinum and coal mines. The new products are Duraguard™ (mechanically operated mobile face support system), Cellular Concrete integrated support and ventilation wall system; in-situ placed cementitious grout packs and the Grincube (cuttable roadway support for mechanised coal mines).

Railtrack Division

This well established division manufactures the full range of pre-stressed concrete sleepers for underground mining applications. Our services include assistance with railtrack design, construction (Lesedi Tracks), supply of Pandrol® sleeper fastening accessories and Flolok® drainage channels. Manufacturing plants (mechanised pre-stressed concrete long-line system) are based in Westonaria which currently includes the manufacturing of universal turn-out sets for Spoornet and Gautrain.

Geotechnical Division

This division designs, manufactures and supplies a comprehensive range of niche products to civil engineering and mining markets. Typical products consist of groutable ground anchors, soil nails, self-drilling groutable anchors and the Surelock® (patented) mechanically end-anchored cable rock anchor for specialised mining applications. All export products (mainly steel end-anchor expansion shells) are also managed by the Geotech division.

Cellular Concrete Division

A new division born out of Duraset’s core competency in cellular concrete. This division supplies in-situ placed cellular concrete (also referred to as foam concrete in the marketplace) to geotechnical, civil and construction markets. With it’s unique strong, yet lightweight properties, cellular concrete is the perfect choice for an energy efficient, cost effective solution. Focus is on niche opportunities in the above-mentioned markets where significant growth opportunities have been identified.

Export Division

All of Duraset’s products and innovations are available for export. This operation is managed by the Geotechnical division.
